Why your app gets uninstalled in the first week

The first screen asks for too much. Signup forms with eight fields, permissions requested before anything is shown, and a mandatory OTP before the user knows what the app does. Let people see value first and ask afterwards.

It is slow on the phones people actually own. Testing on a flagship tells you very little about a four-year-old Android on patchy 4G, which is what a large share of your users are on.

It does not work when the signal drops. In a basement, a lift, or a school corridor, an app that just spins has failed. Cache the last known state and queue actions for later.

And it has nothing to come back for. If there is no notification worth receiving and no state that changes between visits, the app is a website with extra steps — and it loses the storage argument the first time the phone fills up.
