Before you buy a CRM, automate these three things
Capturing the lead. If enquiries arrive across a website form, WhatsApp, and phone calls, and land in three different places, no CRM will save you — it will just become a fourth place. Route all three into one list first.
The first response. A same-day acknowledgement with the next step beats a well-organised follow-up three days later. This is one automation and it moves conversion more than most software purchases do.
The handover. When a lead moves from whoever answered to whoever closes, the context usually gets retyped or lost. Passing the record instead of the summary removes an entire category of mistakes.
Do those three and you will know exactly what you need a CRM for — and it is often less than the one you were about to buy. That is a better position to be shopping from.
